Understanding Child Sexual Abuse & Exploitation Through Lived Experience
Pan Berkshire Child Exploitation group event
Delivered by REIGN, a survivor-led organisation dedicated to raising awareness and improving responses to child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSA/CSE) through lived experience. This powerful session offers professionals a chance to learn directly from survivors.
This session will guide attendees through a challenging but essential journey, helping them to:
- Reflect on what they already know about CSA/CSE, including stereotypes and assumptions about who is affected.
- Break down legal definitions and challenge common myths surrounding these crimes.
- Recognise key signs, indicators, and risk factors and understand how to use this knowledge effectively in real-world settings.
- Hear first hand accounts of how CSA/CSE unfolded in our lives and extract lessons that can inform and improve professional practice
- Gain practical advice on how to better support children and young people experiencing abuse or exploitation.
- The session will conclude with a Q&A, offering an open, honest space for participants to ask survivors the questions they may not have felt able to before.
