What to do when a child needs help training
Structure
The session will be an interactive and engaging session, using case study examples to take a candidates through scenarios of a child’s situation.
Aims and Objectives: Slough Safeguarding Partnership aims to increase awareness to effectively respond to children who need help or protection
By the end of the course you will :
Know how to respond when a child needs help or protection,
Know how to respond to the unexpected,
Have confidence in being professionally curious with the child and or their family, to understand their needs,
Be able to skilfully challenge families and other professionals, when needed,
Know how to find out what help the child and or family need and to support the family to access it,
Know where to access support for you as a professional, to assist in your decision making to help the child and their family,
This training is for those colleagues who have already undertaken safeguarding training provided by their own organisation.
Please note, this is a pilot training session and your feedback will be used to further develop and enhance this training course.
