Slough Safeguarding Adults

Multi-Agency Risk Tool For Adults Now Published

Recent SAR’s have highlighted the need to address concerns for adults (including 18 - 25 year olds transitioning from support from SCST) who do not access services for a number of reasons, including lack of perceived appropriate services, personal choice, lack of awareness.

A Multi agency risk tool has been developed to assist in support for these individuals and is available to download Here.

A two hour training seminar has also been developed to help staff to use the tool and risk framework.  The learning outcomes for the seminar are Improved competencies around the following :

  • Understanding guidance and identification of when to initiate the risk framework
  • Identification of people who would benefit
  • Confidence and competence around multi-agency working to share risk when working with complex and challenging cases
  • Understanding of role of agencies in managing risk for vulnerable adults
  • Completion of the risk tool
  • Understanding support available

The seminars will be available to book via our new Learning and Development events section of the Slough Safeguarding Partnership website from 15th January.  Please put the dates in your diary and book your place soon as we expect there to be high demand for these seminars following the feedback from our pilot.

COVID-19 update

All face to face training is currently cancelled.  However a brief training video is available to view in the interim.  The video is for all staff across all agencies who work with people who refuse/do not access support, even when offered.

 https://youtu.be/CVm_S3FeK4Q

This video has been produced as a replacement  for the training sessions that have been cancelled due to COVID-19.  It is less than  15 minutes and is intended as an introduction to the tool and framework.  The framework and tool can be accessed HERE.

I would recommend that people download the document before they view the video.

I would recommend that this is viewed and then discussed in a team meeting or at least with a line manager to embed the learning and to discuss the best use of the tool for your clients/patients.
