Slough Safeguarding Adults Partnership

Safeguarding Adults Reviews including new guidance.

The partnership has a legal duty to carry out a Safeguarding Adults Review (SAR) when there is reasonable cause for concern about how agencies worked together to safeguard an adult who has died, and abuse or neglect is suspected to be a factor in their death, or if the adult is still alive and the SAB knows or suspects that the adult experienced serious abuse or neglect.

The aim of a SAR is for all agencies to learn lessons about the way they safeguard adults at risk and prevent such tragedies happening in the future. They will make sure that partners get the full picture of what went wrong, so that all organisations involved can improve their practice.

Safeguarding Adults Reviews and Briefing Notes commissioned by this Board and by neighbouring authorities are published below:

General Practice note

The Learning and Development Forum considered the difference in effective communication and efficient information sharing in local Safeguarding Practice Reviews and Safeguarding Adult Reviews. This important distinction was highlighted in a number of reviews and it is important that all practitioners and managers are aware and understand the need for Effective communication, not just Efficient information sharing.

The full Practice note can be found below.

Efficient Information Sharing is not the same as effective communication
