The Safe in Slough Executive group will consider this guidance at a planned meet in January and will publish a response.

The document will be raised at relevant meetings throughout January-March. This document will inform the strategic plan and priorities for safeguarding children in  24-25 which will be developed in consultation with partners, agreed at a planned summit in March 24 and published in April 2024.

There will be no immediate change to current arrangements.

Our partnership arrangements  align our duties under the Care Act 2014 , the Children Act 2004 and the Crime and disorder act 1998.

Safe in Slough Partnership arrangements

Strategic plan

Our priorities  can be summarised as:

  • Safeguard children and young people from abuse and neglect.
  • Safeguarding vulnerable adults
  • Help and prevent the exploitation of people in Slough.
  • Raise awareness about Domestic abuse and help those affected by it.
  • Reduce violence
  • Reduce anti-social behaviour
  • Raise awareness of substance misuse and help those affected by it.

Membership of the Safe in Slough partnership is made up of representatives from;

Slough Local Authority, Slough Children First, Primary, Secondary schools and colleges, Berkshire Health Care Foundation Trust, Frimley Integrated Care Board, Solutions 4 Health, Frimley Health Care Foundation Trust, The Probation Service, and Thames Valley Police and Health Watch and all members of the community safety partnership.

We  collaborate with safeguarding partnerships across Berkshire around;

  • Policy and procedures;  carried out by the Pan Berkshire policy and procedures group
  • The Pan Berkshire child exploitation forum
  • The Pan Berkshire Section 11 Panel (Monitoring compliance of individual agencies to Section 11 of the Children Act 2004)

In June 2023 we began revising how we monitor the effectiveness of partnership working and agreed on This paper

in 2023-2024 we will translated this into a quality assurance process for the partnership.

Partners will be considering the implications of partnership arrangements in January to March.
