Safeguarding in Education

The Safeguarding in education settings group provides an overview of the effectiveness of safeguarding in  schools , colleges and other education settings

The Safeguarding in Education Officer :

  • Support schools with compliance on government guidance in respect of safeguarding responsibilities and training requirements
  • Provide expert advice and consultation to education setting regarding safeguarding matters in schools and to sign post to the most appropriate support services
  • Foster and facilitate good communication between schools and partners to safeguard children 
  • Disseminate and signpost best practice in safeguarding in schools on policy development and share learning from Serious Case Reviews
  • Support, follow up and manage any safeguarding complaints with schools from external bodies (Ofsted, ESFA, and CP&S Unit)
  • Collate, manage and evaluate the annual Sec 11 audits on behalf of the LSCB including safeguarding training needs
